Let’s all face it, deep down we all are suckers for the good old love stories, no matter how cheesy or cringey they might be. And one of these romantic comedies that were successful in winning everyone’s heart was none other than HoriMiya.
HoriMiya highlighting the story of Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura beautifully portrays the two of them meeting each other in unconventional circumstances and ofcourse falling in love. The calm and collected Hori who actually has quite a temper at home, taking care of all the chores and her little brother, and the quiet and studious Miyamura who rarely ever talks in school but actually has tonnes of earring and tattoos in the real-life form of an unlikely and cute pair that makes the fan’s hearts swoon!
The season 1 of HoriMiya, ended with Hori, Miyamura, Yoshikawa, and Toru graduating from their high school. Hori and Miyamura decide to get married and although we never actually get to see their plans, Toru realizes his feelings for Yoshikawa and decides that for a while he wants things to stay as they are.

Whereas some fans are quite satisfied by the ending, I on the other hand am definitely not! Because although a lot of things were answered and cleared, we never get to see hori or Miyahara get married! We also don’t get to see how Toru and Yoshikawa’s relationship progresses. I mean although, it ended quite satisfactorily, in my honest opinion there are still some loose ends!
So is Horimiya going to fulfill the fans’ wishes and return for a season 2? Unfortunately for our fans, the returning of HoriMiya might just be a pipe dream, mostly because the dining of the anime was satisfactory and tied all the loose ends. The show began airing in January 2021, and ever after a year hasn’t been renewed, therefore, if this isn’t CloverWorks studios’ way of saying a big No, then I don’t know what is!
However, if you like me are interested in reading the entire story and are curious to know how the story of Hori and Miyahara will end, make sure to read its manga available on Manga Plus by Shueisha.
